We serve Veterans, Active, and Inactive Duty Military through recreation, reintegration (Veterans coaching Veterans), community service, work and internship opportunities at both RockVentures and Shared Adventures Foundation, in Rochester, New York. Families and friends are encouraged to join select programs.
We support Veterans and their families with adventure, recreation, peer-coaching, and other non-traditional strategies to assist combat veterans adjust to civilian life. Some of our internships and activities are planned to promote positive, evidence-based education, while others are purely for fun.
SATURDAY MORNING CLIMBING
Enjoy a fun workout with other Veterans, families, and friends. This is a wonderful place to share life and meet other people.
- 8:30 AM Belay Training/Climbing Class
- 9:00 AM – 11 AM Climbing
- $15 Veterans and Military ID card holders, family, and guests
- Must be pre-paid by Thursday Noon.
- We need a minimum of 3 people attending each week to hold event - please call us to verify
WEEKEND ADIRONDACK TRIPS
Get together with other Veterans and spend a weekend relaxing and socializing!
- Hiking (High peaks and Cat Mountain)
- Fishing and Paddling
- Trail service projects
Veterans have an opportunity to work for RockVentures or Shared Adventures Foundation as paid part-time employees - teaching, helping with birthday parties, group facilitation, sleepovers, lifeguarding, facility management, climbing and ropes course curriculum.
Most work is on weekend days, nights and holidays.

Our trips and programs are not subsidized by the government or the VA. They are funded entirely people like you - caring individuals and other Veterans. All donations go directly to helping Veterans relax, socialize, and have fun.
